ADVANTAGES  OF  LED LIGHTING

1. They are long lasting. The long lasting attribute is one of the greatest benefits of using the LED Bulbs. The LEDs can operate in a significant manner and have a lifespan that is greater than any other bulb on the market.

2.  Cost saving LED bulbs consume very low energy. Compared to common bulbs they make use of only 1/1000th of the energy of old fashioned bulbs. When using LED bulbs you can save much in the long run for your business. Some people believe that there is a high cost associated with purchasing LED's. While you think that you are saving money purchasing certain other types of bulbs you should also consider how much you are wasting on replacing the bulbs when they quickly burn out and also on your electricity bills.

3. Use of mercury is not present so when purchasing light bulbs for your business what you want to consider is the number of lumens in comparison to the watts (lumens per watt). Energy efficiency would be improved with more lumens and fewer watts. Another thing to consider is the amount of lighting needed for peak performance.

When you want to do something for the environment plus save time and money, choose LEDs and enjoy the benefits. Choose high-quality bulbs offered by Aerostat Industries.

FLUORESCENT  T-8'S & T-12'S

T12s are 1.5-inch diameter fluorescent tubes. These are the oldest style of fluorescent tubes and they generally run off magnetic ballasts, which are no longer manufactured, making them obsolete in the near future.

Typically, you see T12s in troffers (the rectangular light fixture that fits into a dropped ceiling grid). Sometimes, you’ll find T12s in older warehouses or apartment complexes. High-output T12s can also be used in lit signage.

Since they are beginning to phase out, there are less 1.5-inch LED tubes on the market, but there are LED replacement tubes for T8s.

Fluorescent T8 fluorescent tubes are 1-inch diameter and are the most widely used. Four-foot T8's, in particular, are ubiquitous. You'll find them in hospitals, commercial offices, retail spaces, warehouses, schools ... everywhere.

T8s are energy efficient, inexpensive, and produce a lot of light (lumens). You’ll also typically find T8s in troffers, but you’ll also see them in some high-bay fixtures, strip lights, , and you may even find them in more specialty applications like cove lighting.

COMPACT  FLUORESCENT  LAMP

Picture
The compact fluorescent lamp (CFL), also known as energy-saving light, compact fluorescent light, and compact fluorescent tube, is a fluorescent lamp designed to replace incandescent light bulbs.  They generally fit into light fixtures originally designed for incandescent bulbs. The lamps use a curved tube that fits into the space of an incandescent bulb, with an electronic ballast in the base of the lamp.

Compared to ordinary incandescent lamps giving the same amount of visible light, CFL's use up to one-third the electric power, and last up to fifteen times longer. CFL's can save over 5 times its purchase price in electricity costs over the bulb's lifetime. Like other fluorescent lamps, CFL's may contain mercury which can complicate disposal. Check your locality to find out what's right for you in your area.

HIGH INTENSITY  DISCHARGE

Picture
HID, or high-intensity discharge lamps and light bulbs, are in the gas-discharge arc lamps family. They create light by sending an electrical discharge between the two electrodes and through a plasma or ionized gas. An additional gas is generally used, and this gas serves as an easy way to classify the major types of HID lamps: Metal halide, Mercury, and sodium.

These lamps are known for their efficiency at turning electricity into light and for their long life. HID lamps require a ballast in order to generate the initial surge of electricity needed to start them and to regulate their power during normal operation.
